Today we were miners in the Gemfields of Central Queensland. We went to the Glenalva fossicking area, and we found 6 sapphires and 2 zircons. It was hard work, but two of the sapphires were worth cutting. One was a blue and the other was a star sapphire. Sapphires and zircons were first found in this area in 1875.
We also drove to a small town called Rubyvale and crossed the Tropic of Capricorn.
