Cave and Crocs 4th July

After Katherine Gorge we went to see Cutta Cutta Caves. In Cutta Cutta Caves there were stalactites and stalagmites. Stalactites hold on tight which means stalactites hang from the top of the cave and stalagmites might get to the roof of the cave. Cutta Cutta means many stars because there are sparkling rocks. The caves are made from limestone which was laid down 200 million years ago when there was an inland sea, so the limestone is made out of millions of tiny dead sea creatures. 20 million years ago, water started running through the rock and eroded it away to form the caves.
